In which things start to settle down - kind of.

OK: so. Australia blah blah made it here blah blah yes it's lovely but what next? School and work of course! After trawling a ridiculous number of child care centres we managed to get the girls into a place in Alexandria: it's further away than we'd like but it's a start. The centre itself is really big and well equipped:

Darcey was alright about the whole thing but let's just say it took Florence a while to get over her initial reservations.

One of the absolutely brilliant things about having their daycare in Alexandria is that it is opposite a wonderful "creative complex" which basically means some offices amid a brilliant cafe/restaurant setup called The Grounds/4143 respectively.  Obviously good cafes tend to be fairly central to daily Bunker operations so this has made at least two of the Bunker household very happy indeed.

The research facility and training centre are both coffee related ventures. I knew they took it seriously but really! This is the garden:

And here are some real life Australians enjoying some nice coffee!

Happy children after being released from daycare prison:

Florence still not that happy about the whole thing

The upside of putting our distressed children in a place they really didn't want to be was that Keith and I got to have so grown up time because I don't start work until Monday. SO we went to do some art!

Boxes with wings.

Modern art!

Modern art!

Modern art!

Loved this one.

Shoes made of shells.

Oh how apt.

Look no children/contemporary sunglasses!

But of course it can't last...next up: work.

Australia, part 1a.

We're in Sydney!

After arriving safely and without any drama it took everyone a while to get over the jet lag. The iPad helped with occasional distraction but sometimes one just needs a nap

Watching Bugs Bunny at 2.30am

We've spent a bit of time in Mosman with Mark, Belinda and their girls Maddi, Tallulah and baby Coco.

The weather has been fabulous so we've been out as much as possible. This is on the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee looking towards Bronte beach.

Towards Bondi

Florence finding many many interesting things on the way.

Bondi

The girls don't need an excuse to get on the beach - this is up at Watson's bay, finding 'owl' footprints.

Doyles for fish and chips.

So far it just feels like being on holiday, especially when you see views like this.

Next stop, school and work!
